Fashion Scout » Off to the Andes With Wunderkind!

PUBLISHED IN:

The fashion coterie may be clamoring for Céline this fall, but Wunderkind is bucking the minimalism trend. Then again, the brand’s designer, Wolfgang Joop (of JOOP! fame), has never really followed the crowd. His German label has amassed a cult following in a few short years, thanks to its haute bohemian look and use of luxe materials. Joop draws inspiration from far flung corners of the earth and weaves in a dash of whimsy with flowing dresses, wild prints and expert — often avant-garde — tailoring. His Fall/Winter 2010 collection celebrates texture, layered fabrics and South American flair: blanket fringe details, silk animal prints, low slung brown leather belts and blazes of red amidst earthy hues. Go on, wrap yourself in Wunderkind and book a flight to the Andes!
